...REACH OUT

Yesterday after we attended the mass at Redemptorist Church we headed to La Tegola, Tops for our dinner. It was pretty cold up there. While having our dinner my ear was with the conversation of the crew in the kitchen and the waitress..."We need to rush our son to the hospital"...a man begging to take a time off to take his kid to the hospital. I just listen, listen, and listen. Until we're done with our dinner...there were foods left at our table. My hubby and I decided not to take it home but rather give it to their kids who watched our car outside.

On our way down the hill we saw the parents taking the motor vehicle ( 'habal-habal' ) to rushed their son to the hospital...too bad our car didn't have that enough space to accommodate them instead we hand them a cash to help their finances for their hospital bills or medicines.

We've been reaching to some who needed our help but this one really melt my heart. We considered ourselves so blessed because we have enough to provide for our son needs while others can't have it. It is really soul lifting experience for us to reach out to those people. We only lived once in this world for us the luxury of our time is to see those less brethren happy.

Thanks GOD for all the wonderful blessings you've given us. May you continue to guide us being an instrument to your people. Love you.

...STO. NINO (Pit Senor!)

Sinulog '08....i thank GOD for friends & another life.

The Sinulog festival is one of the grandest and most colorful festivals in the Philippines. The main festival is held each year on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City to honor the Santo Niño, or the holy child Jesus, the patron of the whole province of Cebu. The word “santo” means “holy” (in this case) and not “saint”. A similar example is Santo Rosario, meaning Holy Rosary and not Saint Rosary. It is essentially a dance ritual that remembers the Filipino people’s pagan past and their acceptance of Christianity.

The festival features some the country’s most colorful displays of pomp and pageantry: participants garbed in bright-colored costumes dance to the rhythm of drums, trumpets, and native gongs. The streets are usually lined with vendors and pedestrians all wanting to witness the street-dancing. Smaller versions of the festival are also held in various parts of the province, also to celebrate and honor the Santo Niño. There is also a Sinulog sa Kabataan, which is performed by the youths of Cebu a week before the Grand Parade.

Recently, the cultural event has been commercialized as a tourist attraction and instead of traditional street-dancing from locals, Sinulog also came to mean a contest featuring contingents from various parts of the country. The Sinulog Contest is traditionally held in the Cebu City Sports Complex, where most of Cebu’s major provincial events are held.

...BEANS OF JAVA

"It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion,
It is by the Beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed,
The hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning,
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion"

...YOU..."Faithfully"

I just love this song: Faithfully by Journey

I went through the youtube site to view Arnel Pineda as he sung the Journey's famous song "Faithfully"...

Highway run
Into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
Youre on my mind
Restless hearts
Sleep alone tonight
Sendin all my love
Along the wire

They say that the road
Aint no place to start a family
Right down the line
Its been you and me
And lovin a music man
Aint always what its supposed to be
Oh girl you stand by me
Im forever yours...faithfully

Circus life
Under the big top world
We all need the clowns
To make us smile
Through space and time
Always another show
Wondering where I am
Lost without you

And being apart aint easy
On this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy
Of rediscovering you
Oh girl, you stand by me
Im forever yours...faithfully

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Faithfully, Im still yours
Im forever yours
Ever yours...faithfully

...OUR BABY

My Letter to Trey
Written Date: Sept.12, 2007
Time: 4:44AM

Dearest Trey,

As my pregnancy and your stay in my womb nears an end, my thoughts and feelings about our
amazing experience together are filling my days. I feel an overwhelming urge to put down some of my many feelings on writings. If in future you have an opportunity to read this letter I think that would be wonderful. There are so many precious moments that I fear I have already forgotten. By writing this letter I will have the opportunity to read about, and remember our time together for nine months.

ILOVEYOU. You make me smile when you kick me and I delight seeing my tummy become misshapen with contortions. You are easy to care for while you are on the inside despite of our situation together that I am in bed rest for months. I try to eat well & we go to doctor's appointments with your daddy taking his time off just to make sure that you are alright inside. Even our doctor lends me her Doppler so we can detect your heartbeat everyday.

You have come along with me everywhere, from the routine to the bizarre, you were there. Your daddy's voice is the only deep one that you hear with regularity. You have also, unfortunately, been witness with daddy & mommy disagreement and discussion. I apologize for these time but you were also in the middle of reconciliation's and making up. You got to be right in the middle of many, many big hugs. It is all part of life....Daddy & I love each other very much and I hope you could feel that. I will try to dig the memories we had from the start until this very moment...

1st Trimester (Jan-Mar):
Dad & I bought five different kinds of pregnancy test just to make sure that I am "positive." The first two was tested Jan. 3 and the result appeared negative and the last 3 was tested last Jan. 15 and finally appeared positive. It was then we decided to go to the hospital for the prenatal check up. The OB told me that my pregnancy was critical because my cervix was so thin that can lead to miscarriage. I cried and we decided that I'll be going home in Bacolod so that I have someone who can look after me since daddy can't be with me during daytime because he's very busy with his job. We have to understand that because daddy was earning for your future. Then I went home to Bacolod and stayed there for 5months.Your daddy flew 20minutes by plane every twice a month just to be with us.

During this trimester I love to eat strawberries, siomai, siopao, singkamas, cocumber and watermelon. Mom will introduce you to that kind of foods the moment you'll arrive and get older. Your Tita May accompany me to buy siomai and siopao to Robinson's Bacolod and Lopue's East.

Every morning I loved to watch Blues Clues and Dora the Explorer perhaps it's Ate Trina's favorite show.
And in the afternoon I will stay at the swing with Ate Trina and Ate KC. Your Lola Ana won't stop me for eating anything that's the reason I was really huge.

2nd Trimester (Apr-Jun)
During this trimester my cravings for food lessen. And my tummy is getting bigger that I can't even wear my jeans and decided to wear maternity dresses then. I can almost feel you moving. I've been listening Classical music to soothes you inside my tummy. I had a congenital prenatal by last week of April
and it was confirmed that I am carrying a baby boy and I had a placenta previa that may cause to bleed.
Still my OB advised me for bed rest.

Month of May came, your Daddy and I decided that we'll go back to Cebu and have my labor here instead. Daddy misses us a lot and he longs to see your movement everytime he baby talks at you. It was May 7 we flew back here. The temperature in Cebu was really humid and that leads me to a skin allergy. The dermatologist says it's a rare case to have PUPPP. This only happens to 1% of pregnant women carrying a boy fetus. She advised me to stay in a cool area. So we consume all the electricity at home because we're using aircon and electric fan.

Since I can't go out due to some complication that requires me for a bed rest there were friends who visited us namely: Tito Brendon, Tito Dodong, Tito Stephen, Tito Paul, Tita Maia (Mom's and Dad's Friends), your Aunt Lesle and Aunt Leila ( Mom's cousins). And had callers and chatters who beat our boredom of staying at home. We have your Dad's families and Mom's families. You have also Tita Cian who calls us. We have Uncle Alan (mom's bro), Tita Shirley, Tita Kim, Tita Mats, Tita Maia, Tita Mayang, & Tita Wenj (Mom's friends). These were the few people who spend some time chatting with so many things..hahaha.

3rd & Last Trimester(Jul-Sept)
Finally the last trimester came. Enjoying our bonding together while you're inside my tummy. During this period I had my pelvic ultrasound. At this, time everything was "normal". So we got the chance to go to malls and Starbucks..longing for their mango cheesecake.

Lola Ana flew all the way here from Bacolod last month just to accompany us when Daddy's busy at work. We had a frequent prenatal check up(every week) with Dra.Igana clinic. We also had our last ultrasound... the 4D ultrasound. We lola and Daddy saw your face completely...I was really excited before we came to the laboratory to see if you look like me or your dad. Result shows that you inherit more with your Daddy...We're so excited especially Daddy because at last he's going to have his junior. We decided to name you after his Tatay and Nanay's name and we come up with the name Antoine Emmanuel. Since you can't be the 'third' to the Odejerte clan so we choose to give you a nickname 'Trey' still means the third in Irish.

These were memories you will look back when you grow older..the memories of you and me while you're inside
my tummy.

In a few days Doki will cut that cord that binds us together I just have some few expectations before you
say HELLO WORLD!!! I expect you to be good lil boy. When you get older your Dad and I maybe strict in some ways but you have to understand us why we're doing that. You're going to understand these matter when become a parent like us someday. Life is a cycle my son. So allow your goodness to spill all over. There are people in this world who'll treat you as enemy yet try to be humble with them as much as possible learn to forgive everyone because happiness cannot be found with wealth but with the people you reach out. Be strong in reaching your dreams in life, challenges may hinder you but never lose hope.

Daddy and I love you so much.

See you...

Mommy

...MY HUSBAND

Antonio O. Odejerte, Jr.

How we met?

A special friend introduced us who happens to be my date on that day at Ayala Center. Nonie just came home that day from a business trip abroad.

After that there are lot of event happened that I refused to talk.

Anyway, my friendship with my husband started when his friend vanished in my life. I was deeply hurt at that time. And he's been there with me to listen. I pour my heart out to him because I cannot stand the pain that I once had, with his friend. My heart was less vague but he made it clear. He's been good, a brother and a true guy friend to me. There and then he started courting me…

How did we end up?

…months passed after that heartbreaking experienced I had, I lead myself to isolation. I was deeply hurt that I can't afford to talk to someone else. We didn't have any communication at all.

Month of February 2005 came when I am reaching my friend through text message that I need a company who will get my Irish friend at the airport for a vacation here in Cebu, the message was accidentally sent to him. He calls me back asking how I am and if the message was for him. I apologized about it.

From there we started going out until the day I was sent to abroad for a business trip. When I got home after the trip I started to realize that I've been missing his company a lot. He's really different. I should say we're in the same direction and principle in our life's perspective. We have something in common.

The 3rd of May came when I finally decided that he's the one that I can give my heart. After a month he popped up the question and flew to US for another business trip. We had long distance relationship for six months.

It was Thanksgiving (Hanukkah) when he spent his vacation to my family at California. It was then he asked my family's permission to marry me.

Year 2006 was a very busy day for both of us preparing for our wedding ceremony. December 21, 2006 by 2:30pm at the Sacred Heart Parish we both vowed to be as one and that day I gave my life to this man.

The man I've been praying for my whole life…the man who will love me and our future children.

...MY FAMILY

This is my family. My husband Nonie and I live in Cebu. We have a cutie baby boy named Antoine Emmanuel. I am so blessed with an amazing husband and little boy.
